Curriculum

Novi High School offers a number of advanced academic programs. The purpose of these programs is to provide challenging college preparatory programs for students.
 
  • Twenty-two Advanced Placement courses are offered in Biology, Calculus AB & BC, Chemistry, Computer Science, English Language, English Literature, Environmental Science, European History, French, Japanese, Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Physics C: Mechanics, Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism, Psychology, Research, Seminar, Spanish, Statistics, US Government and Politics, US History.
  • Fifteen IB Diploma Programme courses are offered in Biology HL, Business Management HL, Physics SL, Language Arts HL, Spanish SL, French SL, Japanese SL, German SL, Visual Art HL, History SL & HL, Math SL, Sports-Exercise-Health Science HL, Career Core, and Theory of Knowledge.
  • Three Honors courses offered: Geometry, Algebra 2 and Pre-Calculus
  • Juniors and Seniors have access to Career and Technical Education (CTE) at the Oakland Schools Technical Center (OSTC).

Students are limited to only taking AP exams for courses they are enrolled in, with the exception of AP language exams for native speakers.

Novi High School operates on a six period day. Students earn .5 credit per semester per class and are able to earn six credits per year.
