Favorite teacher: "I have had so many teachers throughout my high school career that have been memorable for one reason or another, but my top few would have to be Mrs. Schurig, Mrs. Maguire, Mr. White and Mr. Pohlonski. They were all teachers who made me look forward to coming to class each day—not just to see my friends or learn content that interested me, but because I enjoyed listening to them and chatting with them as well. They truly liked cracking jokes and having fun with us, which contributed to the lovely atmosphere in all their classes. The small moments in all their classes were the most humorous and enjoyable, and because I was able to connect with them beyond the content, I'm always glad to stop and talk to them even though I'm not in most of their classes anymore."
Favorite quote: "In the stories, love healed your wounds, fixed what was broken, allowed you to go on. But love wasn’t a spell, some kind of benediction to be whispered, a balm or a cure-all. It was a single, fragile thread, which grew stronger through connection, through shared hardship and trust.” - Leigh Bardugo
Advice for future students: "High school is not where you already know what you're supposed to do. Try everything you can and want to do, no matter what doubts you may have nagging at you, because now is the time to step out of your comfort zone, create new experiences, maybe discover new interests and have fun. Go up to those people you've been meaning to talk to, give that person a compliment. Don't go into your later years with regrets. Also, start all your important things WELL ahead of your deadlines—procrastination is your absolute worst enemy."
It's a great day to be a Novi Wildcat. What makes this statement true for you?: "The sense of community that encapsulates the Novi experience. Even walking through the crowded first floor during passing time, there seems to me to be a sense of togetherness. We're all in this together and are going through many of the same things, so we're not all that different. This is especially true of the co-curricular activities, for example choir. Everyone there is bonded by their love of something, and it's so easy to feel connected to everyone and share laughter and those little snippets of our lives with each other because of that."

Mr. White was always engaging during and outside of class, having discussions about both history and our interests, and was always able to make you feel like he understood you at a deeper level."
Favorite quote: "You sound like my nephew. Always thinking you need to do things on your own without anyone's support. There is nothing wrong with letting people who love you help you.” - Uncle Iroh
Advice for future students: "Enjoy being a kid. High School is a part of your journey to adulthood, but you aren't supposed to only focus on maxing your stats, making life changing decisions, or doing everything to set you up for the future. These are the last few years you have of being a kid. Enjoy spending time with your friends, watching that movie you wanted to, trying that new restaurant, going to that party, anything that will make your last few years of being a kid a bit more fun."

Mr. Scobie's enthusiasm about AP Gov made the class really enjoyable and engaging. Mr. O'Leary made class challenging but also created a fun environment that made me look forward to a math class for the first time. They both had an effect on me that shaped who I am outside of the classroom, and for that reason, they are my favorites."
Favorite quote: “In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing." - Theodore Roosevelt
Advice for future students: "Don’t decide too early who you want to be and close yourself off to everything else. You have time to explore and you should use it."

Advice for future students: "Get involved early. As an underclassmen, you have the most time available to explore clubs, activities, and sports. Once you have found your favorite activities, stick with those. Approach everything you do with an open mind. If you join an activity expecting to hate it, you probably will. It is your choice to have fun and bring energy along with you wherever you go."
