To this end the organization works with schools, governments, and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.

These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

AP:  20 courses offered, but students are able to test in 22 because we allow students to self-study for world languages we do not offer.

IB:  15 courses - Higher Level (HL) courses are 2 years, Standard Level (SL) courses are 1-2 years, plus Theory of Knowledge for all Diploma students and Personal and Professional Skills for all Career-related students.

AP: Overall, the courses are designed to assist with advanced placement in courses, meaning earning college credit and/or fulfilling college graduation requirements. The AP Capstone™ program is specifically designed to support critical thinking in students by requiring students to consider and evaluate multiple points of view to develop their own perspectives on complex issues and topics through inquiry and investigation.

IB: The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people, who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. All elements/courses  of the program support the Learner Profile, which means, IB learners strive to be:

And while it is not an expressed part of IB's mission, students may earn college credit and/or fulfill college graduation requirements with IB courses.

AP = FLEXIBILITY Students can focus all of their coursework on the subject(s) of interest.

Junior year students may take Seminar and senior year they may take Research. The culmination of these courses is group and individual presentations and writing. Students write a 5,000 word essay on a topic of interest in Research.

IB = HOLISTIC The Diploma Programme is recognized as the most rigorous high school program. Diploma students are required to take one course from each category, demonstrating their ability across subjects. Subjects of interest are typically taken for two years, while those meant to round out the student are typically taken for one.

Diploma students must complete the core requirements in addition to IB classes. The core requirements include Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS) experiences, and writing their own 4,000-word Extended Essay (EE) under the guidance of a teacher mentor.

The IB Career-related Programme allows students to focus on a selected career-related study and employability, plus academic skills. Students choosing to join the CP programme will be required to take the CP Core course for three semesters. It will provide a curriculum of personal and professional skills; instruction, support, and guidance on their reflective project, and time to work on their language and community engagement learner journals and portfolios.

AP: Perceived as increasing opportunities to earn college credits.

IB Diploma: Perceived as an opportunity to increase chances of admission because it is the most rigorous high school curriculum.

IB Career-related Program Certificate: Perceived as an opportunity to be both college and career ready.

Scores?

Your score report contains scores from all of the AP Exams you have ever taken. Your college will only use those scores that meet the minimum required score to receive credit or placement. You do have the option to withhold a score from a particular college, or cancel a score altogether.

WITHHOLDING

You can request that the AP Program withhold one or more AP Exam scores from any college, university, or scholarship program that you chose as a score recipient. The score will be withheld from any future score reports sent to that college, university, or scholarship program.

• A request to withhold a score does not permanently delete your score.
• You may later release the score to the recipient by sending the AP Program a signed written request. There is no charge to release scores.
• For scores to be withheld from the college, university, or scholarship program that you indicated as your free score report recipient at cb.org/apfreescoresend the AP Program must receive your request by June 15 of the year you took the AP Exam.

Cancel Scores

The AP Program allows you to cancel your AP Exam scores. When you request cancellation, your exam won’t be scored, and if it has already been scored, the score will be permanently deleted from our records. Once a score is canceled, it can’t be reinstated. There’s no fee for this service, but your exam fee is not refunded. Archived scores cannot be canceled.

Scores can be canceled at any time, but for scores not to be sent to the college, university, or scholarship program that you indicated as your free score report recipient at cb.org/apfreescoresend, the AP Program must receive your request by June 15 of the year you took the AP Exam.
