Library Media Center

On Travel days only, students may request a pass to travel to the Library Media Center from their Advisory Classroom.   

Students must check in with their Advisory teachers BEFORE traveling to the LMC and should not arrive at the LMC until after the travel dismissal bell rings.

To signup to attend LMC Advisory, please complete the Google Form - maximum capacity for the LMC is 35 students.  After the capacity has been reached, the form will be disabled and no further signups will be accepted.  The form will be disabled after 10:24AM (end of 3rd period) on Advisory day and no further signups will be accepted.  Teacher passes are not accepted during Advisory.

Library Media Center Advisory Policies:

1. No cell phone usage is allowed during Advisory.  You must check your cell phone into a pouch when you check in at the main desk.
2. Advisory is a time to work, not socialize.  If you do not have something to work quietly on, you will be asked to return back to your Advisory classroom.
3. No food is allowed in the Library Media Center.  Drinks are allowed only if they have a capped lid.
4. The Library Media Center staff is here to help. If you have any questions or need assistance, please ask Mrs. Bratney,  Mrs. Kasper, or Mrs. Hadzialijagic.  They are always happy to help.

MeLCat Requests

MeLCat is an online catalog service that allows patrons of participating libraries to borrow materials - books, movies, music, and more - from all over Michigan and have them delivered to their home library.

To find books on MeLCat, click here to start a MeLCat Search.  

1. Select a Keyword from the menu, for example, "Title", and then type the title you are searching for in the next field and click on the FIND IT button.  
2. The results list will display. Place a check in the empty box to the left of the result that you wish to request and click on the GET THIS FOR ME button.  
3. Select Novi High School from the Library drop down box.  Enter your name and your NHS student account number and click on Submit.
4. You will receive a message that the book request was successful and will be delivered to the Novi HS Media Center when it is ready for pickup.   
5. When your book arrives, the Media Center will email you to let you know that your book is ready to be checked out from the NHS Media Center. 

To look at your MeLCat account online:

1. Go to MyMeLCat
2. Select Novi High School as your Home Library and click on the GO button
3. On the next screen, enter your name and your NHS student account number and click on SUBMIT
4. A screen displaying all of your MeL requested books, and/or any books you have currently checked out displays.  From this screen you may cancel your request or renew any book that you currently have checked out.  

Please remember to return your MeL borrowed items on time, to the NHS Media Center.  Chronic late returns will result in the loss of MeLCat privileges.
